Transcript order FAQs
• How much does an official transcript cost?
o The charge is $8 per transcript, other delivery options could incur additional charges
• What are my payment options?
o Online transcript orders require payment by credit card. Payment for the full amount of a transcript order must be received before the order can be processed
• How long will it take for my transcript to be sent?
o Generally, transcripts are processed within 2 business days, and then sent by your chosen method of delivery.
• Can I pick up my transcript in person?
o Yes – when placing your transcript order, select a transcript type of “pick up” when you receive notification that your order is complete, you may pick up your transcript in person on the 1st floor at Kroon Hall, 195 Prospect street, Registrar’s office, room 108. The office is open Monday – Friday from 8:30-4:30. You will need your ID card.
• Can I order a transcript if I have a hold on my account?
o No. Transcript orders from current or former students with unmet obligations to the University will be canceled. You will be notified by email and your credit card will not be charged. These obligations may include, unpaid bill, library fines, exit interview for student loans. Students should check “Holds” in the academic information tab of SIS to be sure no account restrictions exist.
• Will my transcript include GPA or Class rank?
o No, YSE does not calculate GPA or calculate Class rank
• Can I get an unofficial Transcript?
o No, unofficial transcripts are not available through this system. Students can access a course history report in the Yale Degree Audit system, accessible via SIS
• How do E-Transcripts work?
o When an order for an E-transcript is fulfilled, the recipient will receive two emails – one to generate a passcode and one with a URL to enter the passcode and download the E-Transcript. The recipient may access and download the E-Transcript up to three times before the URL expires. If recipient encounters problems with the download it is recommended to clear the internet browser cache and ensure the most up to date Adobe software edition is installed
• Can I include other documents with my transcript when it is mailed?
o During the transcript ordering process, you will be given the opportunity to upload any of the following documents in PDF, JPG, or JPEG formats to be included with the transcript mailing (LSAC, AMCAS, SOPHAS, Scholarship applications)
• Will I receive a tracking number for my paper transcript order?
o You will only receive a tracking number if you select Priority or Express delivery. Standard USPS delivery does not provide a tracking number and refunds will not be provided if USPS fails to deliver.
